Upcoming Game Releases: May 2019

Fresh off the heels of a month that brought us games like Mortal Kombat 11 and Days Gone, there are a few titles dropping in May that we think will be worth checking out and creating content around:

Life is Strange 2: Episode 3 (PS4, Xbox One, Switch) – May 9

Continuing the story of Sean and Daniel on the run, we get the third episode of Life is Strange 2 titled “Wastelands”. Life is Strange has always delivered a strong, emotionally riveting narrative and we expect nothing less for this installment. A marijuana growing operation (yeah, that’s no “nettle field”) sets the scene for this new episode’s trailer, leaving a lot of uncertainty for where the plot is headed next. See for yourself:

Rage 2 (PS4, Xbox One, PC) – May 14

Rage 2 is an open-world FPS from Bethesda that takes place in a brutal, post-apocalyptic wasteland full of dangerous enemies. We’re talking crazed bandits, mutants, mechs, and more. You know the drill, shoot your way through various enemy factions and save yourself. The setting feels like a cross between Mad Max and Borderlands with an even heavier dose of explosions. We’re interested to see what the replay value is like on this one, but Rage 2 looks to be tons of reckless and mindless fun:

Resident Evil collection (Switch) – May 21

Switch owners who are horror fans will be rejoicing next month when three(!) classic Resident Evil titles release for Nintendo Switch on the same day. This includes Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil HD Remaster, and Resident Evil 4.

Team Sonic Racing (PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC) – May 21

A new racing game featuring the characters from Sonic hits all major platforms in May. While at first look this seems like your standard arcade racer, they’ve added in some interesting game mechanics. Among them is the ability to race as a team where you work together by sharing power-ups and speed boosts. You also can change the appearance of your cars and upgrade them each to fit your personal play style. Take a look:
